A mom should never need to announce this kind of news but sadly they sometimes do.
Corey Haim’s mom Judy has confirmed the cause of her son’s death after receiving the news from the LA County Coroner’s Office. Corey Haim died of pulmonary congestion from an enlarged heart and water on the lungs.
There has been no confirmation about what kind of drugs were in his system at the time of his death but his mom and manager say that he was only taking prescribed medications at the time. Corey Haim had a very public battle with drugs that resulted in being let go from movie and television commitments in recent years.
Corey Haim will always be a big part of my 80s memories which are very close to my heart. Lost Boys, Lucas, and Dream a Little Dream? Come on, those are 80′s classics right there.
He also was Canadian which means he has another special place in my heart as a homeboy done good who also done bad. Hollywood is a hard place, we all know that.
Mamas, don’t let your babies grow up to be Corey.

I’m in total mourning – Corey’s picture was plastered all over my walls as a teenager and I’ll even admit to watching the reality show The Two Corey’s. RIP Corey you’re forever in my heart.
*GASP* I can’t believe you mentioned Dream a Little Dream. I thought I was the only person in the world who had ever seen (and loved) that movie! That will always be the movie I think of when I think of Corey Haim.
