Texas Wants To Spank Your Kids

By on April 16, 2010

Holy shit, REALLY?

You mean we spend all this time up here in the frozen north debating whether or not it's abusive to spank your child even once, when they're throwing a fit and about to hurl themselves into traffic, while Texas is all, oh, yeah, whatevs, IT'S GOOD FOR THEM, why not let teachers spank them, too?

Mamas, don't let your babies ever attend school in Texas.

Bad is the new good.

Yes, really. They don’t just beat kids with paddles in the classroom or anything. When I was in HS in Austin in the early 90′s, I knew students in a certain extracurricular program that were spanked with boards for misbehaving, but other than that, not commonplace. I do feel if we had more of this type of punishment (as long as it was clearly justified), we would have less punks in our public school system, the pain is minimal, but the humiliation factor is what really gets to the offenders.

Whoa, Denise! This could get reeeeeealy heated, and I’m not gonna go there. Believe, me, I am gonna have to sit on my hands to keep from typing on and on about this one. Yikes. Te least I can say is that children learn by example…
