Pimp My Ride: The Dora and Boots Edition
One of the best parts about my kids getting older (besides the fact that on weekends, they’re now able to find cartoons and fetch themselves bowls of cereal while Mummy and Daddy sleep) is that they’ve moved in to a different stage of children’s programming. They’re no longer interested, thank gawd, in such annoying shows as Caillou, Max and Ruby and The Backyardigans, and are now keen on programs that I’ve found myself actually enjoying. As much as I wanted to hate him, SpongeBob is pretty funny, Fairly Odd Parents has had me laughing out loud on more than one occasion and I’m totally hooked on Survive This.
A couple of weeks ago, my daughter got a brightly-colored SpongeBob sticker at the doctor’s office that she decided would look nice on the back of my car. My resistance was met with immediate protests – “But you LIKE SpongeBob!”, she shouted – to which I deadpanned, “Not that much, honey.”
But then there’s this guy, who takes his apparent devotion to Dora the Explorer to a whole new level:
FAIL, indeed. It pains me – seriously PAINS ME – to see such a sweet, sweet ride desecrated by Dora, Boots and that hideous shade of pink.

That’s blind dedication OR his girlfriend is *gulp* really young.

What the HELL? Seriously?
I wrote an ode on my blog recently about my hatred of Dora:
