If you are a parent that title is a complete no-brainer. Babies are even more precious when asleep, it’s just a fact that needs no scientific proof.
When my baby was asleep I barely moved, much less breathed, for fear of waking her. She was a very light and bad sleeper and she did NOT get that from me, aka. the hibernating sloth. But when she did sleep, each time she made a slumbering coo, or flinched, or started doing the running man during REM time, a smile spread across my face while wondering exactly what was going on in her innocent noggin’. Probably most parents wonder what babies dream about when in those deep, peaceful sleep but as far as I know, most parents don’t try to make tangible representations of what their baby may be experiencing when in la-la land.
But this mom has.
Meet Mila’s Daydreams. Mom to Mila, Adele who lives in Helsinki has made photographing her daughter Mila’s naps and creating what she imagines is Mila’s dreams her hobby during maternity leave. Um. My hobby during maternity leave was to see how long I could wear the same spit-up covered t-shirt before it refused to wear me. Hm.
Anyway these photographs come with a huge WARNING: The following images may awaken latent baby urges in those who have sworn they are done with or are without babies.
