Did you know that there are more people in the state of California than there are in the entire country of Canada? Did you know Canada is the biggest supplier of oil to the US? (And we don’t dump it into major bodies of water – take that BP.) Did you know Canada is to blame for Celine Dion, Justin Bieber, and Nickelback? Yeah, sorry about those last ones but pobody’s nerfect. Anyway. YAY FOR CANADA.
This is one of my favourite news clips with Tom Brokaw where he explains Canada to Americans. It makes me tear up with pride and when this aired during this past Winter Olympics in Vancouver (Vancouver 2010: BEST. OLYMPICS. EV-AH.) my pride burst through my chest and I felt I no longer needed to apologize for William Shatner’s behaviour. Please to enjoy, eh.
